Case study

Abbey Pynford

Completed: March 2016
Client: Abbey Pynford handling for client
Purpose: Underpin corner of house to sewer leaking creating running sands
Ground Conditions: Running sands clay
Pile type: 76r
Depth: 7m
Quantity: 7
Additional work: Install underpin brackets
Location: Bedfordshire

This project suited screwpiles due to its minimal disruption.

We only needed to achieve access to the underside of the footing by 350mm in a small pocket local to the pile.

As the pile is loaded by the use of an 8ton jack this eliminates movement immediately.

This low vibration, low noise, fast system proved a success.

The pile installation took 2 days and was ready to backfill and pave.
